Poolhouse

Replace existing 1970's summerhouse with a design which is more sympathetic to the 'mock-Tudor' 1920's house. Incorporate existing Jacuzzi but also provide a changing room, toilet and shower as well as a sitting and food preparation area.

What did DZ do?

Sketch designs and construction drawings, including detailed design studies for internal layouts, materials, fittings etc.

Design issues

The client wanted to create a 'village scene' in the back garden with the new buildings and landscaping all integrated with the existing house. We started by looking at the overall landscaping and the route from the back of the existing property to the pool. This led us to make a feature of the barbeque area where we have covered it with a small gazebo, inspired by traditional 'Lych' gates. The layout of the building itself was dictated to a certain extent by the existing services.

Did DZ get involved in the build?

The client already had builders on site and used a specialist timber frame company to form the structure.
